Walmart’s ‘Get On The Shelf’ Taps Three Inventors

After sifting through entries from more than 4,000 inventors, entrepreneurs and small businesses, Walmart says it has chosen three winners in its “Get on the Shelf” contest.  More than 1 million people voted on the finalists, handing the grand prize to HumanKind Water, which gives 100% of net profits to clean water initiatives worldwide.

PlateTopper, a kitchen product that transforms dinner plates into airtight food storage containers, came in second. And third place went to SnapIt Eyeglass Repair Kit, a screw kit to fix glasses in 30 seconds. Plans call for all three to be sold on walmart.com, with HumanKind Water on shelves in select Walmarts.
